Five Things I Like About Bangkok

Sawadika dearies ^_^,

I just got back from my one-week-family-vacation in Bangkok last Sunday, 15.12.2019. It was my third time in Bangkok. So in this post, I am gonna share with you five things I like about Bangkok. First, let me share with you a brief summary about Bangkok. Bangkok is Thailand's capital city. The city's ancient name is Krung Thep Maha Nakhon (Krung Thep). Bangkok is a very cosmopolitan city with skyscraper buildings. Bangkok occupies 1, 568.7 square kilometers in the Chao Phraya River in central Thailand. The city has over eight million population.

Now here are the five things that I like about Thailand's capital city...

#1 The Thai People Are Creative, Innovative, and Imaginative

Bangkok is one of my favorite cities to visit in Southeast Asia. I am always amazed by the Thai people's creativity, innovativeness, and imaginativeness. I love visiting malls in Bangkok and enjoyed looking at their visual decorations. This time we were lucky to visit Bangkok nearly X-Mas. Most of the malls that we visited (Siam Paragon, Siam Center, Siam Discovery, MBK, Gaysorn Village, and Central World) are beautifully decorated with X-Mas displays. Most displays are so imaginative and magical. It makes you feel like you are in a magical snowy land. Most of the displays are also Instaworthy. For those of you who love posting pictures on Instagram, you must visit malls in Bangkok. Most malls provide an imaginative and interesting display for you guys to pose and take pictures. To me, Siam Paragon has the most beautiful and imaginative X-Mas displays. In fact, Siam Paragon always has the most beautiful and imaginative visual displays among all the malls in Bangkok. Siam Paragon is my favorite mall in Bangkok.

Siam Paragon's Magical Tale theme is the most beautiful, imaginative, and magical. It makes you feel like you are in a magical winter wonderland.

Dior's Blue X-Mas display at Siam Paragon fascinates me the most. It's so beautiful!!!!!!!!!!

#2 Bangkok Is A Fashion Hub

Bangkok is also one of the fashion hub cities in Asia. Most people in Bangkok are well-dress and stylish. This is one of the things I love and enjoy about Bangkok. To me, Bangkok is a good place for clothes shopping. All their fashions are up-to-date, affordable, and most of them are made-in-Thailand. For those of you who want to shop for affordable and up-to-date fashion, I would suggest you visit Platinum Fashion Mall. Platinium Fashion Mall is similar to Tanah Abang and Tamrin in Jakarta, Indonesia. The mall carries a variety of trendy fashion from various high-street brands. Platinum Fashion Mall is located at Phetchaburi Road, opposite Pratunam Complex. Platinum Fashion Mall all is also near to the Central World Mall.

#3 Bangkok Is A Food Heaven

I believe point number three comes without saying. Bangkok is always known as a food heaven. Thai food is absolutely delicious. I am a Thai food lover. If you visit Bangkok, you must try Phat Thai, khaoniao mamuang (mango sticky rice), and somtam. I also highly suggest you guys to dine at Yana Restaurant if you visit Bangkok. Yana Restaurant serves halal Thai food. The restaurant is located on the fifth floor in the MBK Mall.

#4 The Thai People Provides Good Customer Service

Like the Japanese, the Thai people also provide good customer services to their people and tourist. Every time me and my family travel to Bangkok, we always stayed at Marriot Vacation Club. The hotel staff always welcome us well and give us a five-star service during our stay. That makes our stay at Marriot happy and joyful. We were given welcome drinks and towels. Plus, on our second last day (14.12.2019), it was my mother's birthday. The service employees gave my mother a birthday cake. We were happy. Thank you, Marriot Vacation Club Bangkok. Besides Marriot staff, most retail associates at shopping malls and shops are also friendly, cheerful, helpful, and attentive to customers. They all look happy while serving people and performing their tasks.

My mother received this cute birthday cake from Marriot Vacation Club employees. Thank you, Marriot.

#5 Their Service Industry Has A Lot Of Employees

I was amazed to see that Thailand's service industry has big manpower compare to our country, Malaysia. Plus, most of their service employees are local people. Like at Marriot Vacation Club, there were four-five people taking care of the customer service counter and we were served by all of the service employees. Having big manpower makes the workers cheerful, motivated, and enthusiastic to perform their duty. Besides Marriot, most retail outlets also have big manpower. I was amazed when I saw two people standing at the cashier counter - one person does the cashiering and one does the packaging. This also makes their service efficient and fast.

Like in Malaysia, we have small manpower in the service industry. Companies are not hiring many people to perform the service task. This makes the customer service in Malaysia uncheerful, unfriendly, and inefficient. I used to work in the service industry too, and I believe we need big manpower to perform the service task. Small manpower will make our service employees have more than one task, became tired and have no work-life balance. This will make them unhappy, uncheerful, unfriendly, and won't be able to perform their tasks well. We need to have a big manpower in our service industry. Having big manpower will also help employers to create a work-life balance for their employees. Having big manpower in the service industry also creates jobs for the local people. This is something important for the Malaysian government and the private sector to take note of. As a Malaysian, I have to honest that our country has high rates of unemployed people and these people need a job. I believe the service industry is the best place to help these unemployed people. Every country needs more people in its service industry. Companies should hire more people for the service job instead of training their staff to do multi-tasking and use machines. Plus, if we want to attract foreign tourists to our country, we must do something about our service industry. Good service will attract more tourists to our country.

So these are the five things that I like about Bangkok. I believe these experiences and knowledge are valuable for me as a traveler. Insya'Allah I will visit Bangkok again for the future. Before I end this post, let me ask you three questions...

1) Have anyone of you here been to Bangkok before?
2) What is your opinion about Bangkok?
3) What do you like about Bangkok?

Pls, share your Bangkok experience and opinion with me in the comment box below.

That's all for now. Thank you for reading. Have a good day.

XoXo,

Fadima Mooneira ^_^
