It belongs to the historical romance genre and was written by Julia Quinn (author and creator of the Bridgerton series). The novel is titled The Girl With The Make-Believe Husband. Now let's check out Julia Quinn's bio...

ABOUT THE GIRL WITH THE MAKE-BELIEVE HUSBAND
The Girl With The Make-Believe Husband (TGWTMBH) takes place during the Georgian era in England. The story follows a pretty orphaned girl named Cecilia Harcourt. To save her future, Cecilia is given two choices: move in with a maiden aunt or marry a scheming cousin. Cecilia chose none.
To save herself, Cecilia travels from England to America to look after her injured brother, Thomas. Thomas is the only family that Cecilia has. He is a soldier. But when she reaches America, it's not her brother on the sick bed. It's Thomas' best friend, Edward Rokesby instead.
Edward is unconscious. Cecilia vows to look after the stranger. So she tells everyone at the sick house that she is Edward's wife. Everyone believes her.
When Edward wakes up, he is confused. When did he marry his best friend's sister? Will Cecilia continue her lie to save herself? Will Cecilia survive her own lie? What will Edward do when he finds out the truth? And what will happen to Cecilia when Edward finds out that they are not married?
MY REVIEW OF THE GIRL WITH THE MAKE-BELIEVE HUSBAND
TGWTMBH belongs to the Rokesby series. The Rokesby series is the prequel to the Bridgerton series.
TGWTMBH has a very interesting premise and plot. Reading the blurb makes you want to open the book immediately and start digging into the story. This novel is a page-turner indeed. It gives you so many questions. It makes you wonder what will happen to Cecilia when Edward finds out that she is lying to him and everyone. Can Edward accept that Cecilia and him are not really married?
Since this novel is a page-turner, it is definitely a fast read indeed. I can't believe it took me only 4 days to finish this book. Woah!
TGWTMBH also has a good storyline. The story flows well and is easy to understand. This novel is definitely good for light reading. It is also a good book for those who are trying to get back on track from their reading slump.
Other than the premise, plot, and storyline, I also like Julia Quinn's writing style for this story. Her writing for this story is artsy yet simple. It makes it easy for me to visualize the story.
Overall, I rate this novel 7/10. TGWTMBH is a very enjoyable read indeed. But it still cannot be considered as a brilliant read. Hehehe ^_^ However, I'm still going to recommend TGWTMBH to my fellow bookworms who are into the historical romance genre and looking for something light to read. I also need to be honest that this story has 3 spicy scenes in it. So it is not suitable for those who are under 18.
Okay, so this is my review of Julia Quinn's The Girl With The Make-Believe Husband. Has anyone read this novel? If yes, what are your opinions of the story?
Okay, this is all for now. Thank you for reading my review. I'll see you guys again in my next post. Insya-Allah.

ALL THINGS JULIA QUINN ON FADIMA MOONEIRA
I really like the sound to this book. The idea of lying about having a husband so she doesn't have to carry her cousin or live as a spinster, is something that intrigues me. I've read most of the Bridgeton series, and I'll have to stick this one on the list too.
