The Six Old-Normal Things That I Miss

Eiyo dearies, How are you guys doing? Are you guys happy that the movement control order (MCO) is over now? Malaysia is re-opening its economy. Same with other countries. I'm sure most of you are happy now. I heard some of you already made your travel plans. That's great. To my foreign readers, MCO is referred to as "lockdown" or "partial lockdown". Well, these are the SOPs now. These are also the new-normal that we...

Three Reasons To Read The Tale Of Genji by Lady Murasaki Shikibu

Eiyo dearies, I just finished reading The Tale Of Genji (TTOG) by Lady Murasaki Shikibu last week. Now I would like to share with you guys my review of the novel. Lady Murasaki's knowledge of literature and skill in writing were scouted by Empress Akiko (Shoshi). Empress Akiko has a secret desire to learn the Chinese language, and for this reason, Lady Murasaki was recruited to become one of her court ladies. The early death of her husband and her dissatisfaction with court lif...
