NOVEL REVIEW: MINE TILL MIDNIGHT BY LISA KLEYPAS

Eiyo Fadneiras,

Fadima Mooneira is back with another novel review. Today, I’m going to share my review of Lisa Kleypas’ Mine Till Midnight. Now we shall begin with Lisa Kleypas’ bio.

ABOUT LISA KLEYPAS

The stunning historical romance queen~ Lisa Kleypas (Image: us.macmillan.com)

Lisa Kleypas is an American author. She is known as the historical romance queen. 19 of her novels has won the RITA (Romance Writer Of America) Award. Most of her novels are bestsellers and have been translated into 14 different languages. Kleypas is now my favorite romance author. Reading her novels always puts a smile on my face and heart.

ABOUT MINE TILL MIDNIGHT

Mine Till Midnight (MTM) is the first novel in Kleypas’ Hathaway series. Set in the Victorian era (1848), this historical romance followed the story of a 26-year-old alpha woman named Amelia Hathaway. Amelia was the second child and eldest daughter in the Hathaway family.

At the beginning of the story, Kleypas portrayed Amelia as not a very lucky woman. Her parents had passed away due to scarlet fever. Her elder brother, Leo was a drunkard, a gambler, and most of all a trouble maker. Her younger sister, Winnifred was frail due to scarlet fever. As the second child and the eldest daughter, Amelia put herself responsible for her family. Amelia swore that she will never marry and remained a spinster. But fate said that Amelia deserves much better. And along came... Cam Rohan.

Cam Rohan was a handsome half-gypsy man. He was also adventurous, kind-hearted, and secretly rich. Like Amelia, Cam also never thought of getting married and settling down. He only wanted adventures.

As the story evolves, Cam and Amelia became more than good friends. They developed feelings for each other. And Cam realized that he wanted to be with someone special. He wanted someone to love and take care of. And that someone was Amelia. But does Amelia feel the same about Cam? And their relationship?

MY REVIEW OF MINE TILL MIDNIGHT

The very cute couple ~ Cam Rohan & Amelia Hathaway. This illustration is the scene where Cam proposed to Amelia. But she fainted before saying yes. Opps!!! (Image: My Artstagram: @fmooneira_art)

MTM is one of the most beautiful novels that I’ve read this year. The story is so sweet and heartwarming. It's about love, family, and sincerity.

I like Amelia and Cam’s relationship. They are a symbol of a true soulmate. Amelia is strong, fierce, and quite harsh, while Cam is cool, cheerful, and funny. I like the nickname that Cam called Amelia~ hummingbird. I think it's a very adorable nickname. Amelia and Cam are an adorable couple indeed. Most of all, I like the way Amelia and Cam give and take with and respect each other. Give-and-take and respecting each other are the two most important ingredients in love.

The alpha female protagonist~ Amelia Hathaway (Image: My Artstagram: @fmooneira_art)

I like Amelia Hathaway’s character. I think she's a very strong, brave, honest, intelligent, and quick-witted woman. She’s a woman who knows what she wants. She also doesn’t allow any man to dictate her. Like Anne Shirley (Anne of Green Gables) and Jo March (Little Women), Amelia is another fictional character that can be a good role model to young girls. She's a go-getter indeed.

Cam Rohan is a very stunning, charming, and alluring hero. Besides being handsome, he is also super charismatic, very manly, romantic, loving, and a responsible man. He loves and cherishes Amelia dearly. Cam wants to be Amelia’s knight in the shining amour. Cam is also very understanding of what Amelia needs and wants. He wants to help her achieve what she wants. Overall, Cam’s a great guy.

MTM is the third Kleypas novel that I’ve read. Besides the characters, I also like the storyline, plot, characters’ dialogue, and Kleypas’ style of writing in this novel. Overall, I'm giving this novel a 10/10. I highly recommend this novel to my fellow bookworms who are into the historical romance genre. But I’m also going to be frank, that this novel has five sexual romance scenes. So it is not suitable for those who are under 18. Sorry teens, you guys have to be 18 above to read MTM.

Ok, so this is my review of Lisa Kleypas’ Mine Till Midnight. Has any of my readers read Mine Till Midnight by Lisa Kleypas? If yes, what are your opinions of the novel and Cam Rohan’s character? Please share your opinions in the comment box below.

Ok, this is all for now. See guys again next time. Take care.

XoXo,

Fadima Mooneira ^_^

I’m quite new in the historical romance fandom. I’m now looking at Julia Quinn’s novels. Tessa Dare, Eloisa James, Lynsay Sands are on my list too. Thank you for your recommendations 💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙
