FAREWELL 2021 WITH LOVE...
Welcome back to Fadima Mooneira. How are you guys doing? We only have 2 days left till 2022. Are you guys ready to say goodbye to 2021 and welcome 2022? Btw,... how was your 2021 so far? I hope you guys had a good year and are all set and ready for 2022 ^_^
Today, I'm going to share a simple review of my 2021 with you guys. First of all, I want to thank fellow blogger, Jocelyn Tabernero (blogger for CRESENTELLA.COM) for sharing a simple tip to review our year. According to Jocelyn, the best way to review our year is by asking ourselves five year-end reflection questions. So in today's post, I going to ask myself five year-end reflection questions. Now let's get started...
#1 HOW DO YOU DESCRIBE THIS YEAR IN ONE WORD?
To be honest, 2021 is still a learning year for me. I'm still learning how to become a better writer, content creator, blogger, and artist. Besides writing, drawing, and designing, I'm also learning how to promote my work via social media. This year, I gained a lot of new knowledge and skills in creative writing, arts, and online marketing. Syukur alhamdulillah, I am grateful for all the knowledge and skills I've learned this year. I hope to master them and learn more in 2022. Insya-Allah.
#2 WHAT IS THE BEST THING THAT HAPPENED TO YOU THIS YEAR?
My fourth book & third collaboration project, Legasi Abah: Lelaki Tasbih Syurga (LALTS) got published. YAY! The book is now selling at Popular Bookstore and Kinokuniya. Syukur alhamdulillah. This is my best achievement in 2021. Besides LALTS, my third book Legasi Emak: Kari Ayam Cinta (LEKAC) is also available at Popular Bookstore and Kinokuniya.
In 2021, I also got the chance to put one of my illustrations (Fadneira Harajuku) on some merchandise that is selling at Ukiyoto Online Store, Ukiyosk. This is a dream come true for me. As an artist, I always wanted to have my own merchandise. And I hope I will be able to do more of this in 2022. Insya-Allah.
#3 WHAT WERE YOUR FAVORITE 2021 MOMENTS?
Wow... I have so many. Some of them are having one of my illustrations on Ukiyoto merchandise, having my fourth book published, enjoying family vacations at Puteri Harbour and Lexis Hibiscus, and going on a book hunting spree with my bestie, Maddie.
#4 WHAT CHALLENGES HAVE YOU FACED THIS YEAR? AND HOW DO YOU OVERCOME THEM?
The biggest challenge that I faced this year is editing my manuscript (my novel) according to a book critique's advice. April this year, I sent my manuscript to a book critique named Puan Syahida Hassan (my mates told me that she is one of the best in Malaysia). So in September, Puan Syahida returned my manuscript with a lot of critiques and comments. Her critiques and comments almost made me faint. Ouch!
In her comments, Puan Syahida told me to change my story a little bit, make my story shorter, and focus more on the protagonist's goals. Besides these three, Puan Syahida also told me to edit my language and make it more flowery.
As a writer who always wants to improve, I accepted Puan Syahida's critiques and did everything that she told me to do. So I edited my manuscript according to Puan Syahida's advice. I begin my editing journey in September and completed it in December 2021. Syukur alhamdulillah. I'm feeling grateful for this experience. Plus, I gained a new skill ^_^
Puan Syahida's critiques and comments make me learn more about story writing and editing. Plus, Puan Syahida also taught me how to be a responsible writer. Besides working with Puan Syahida, I also participated in some of her online classes. I enjoyed working with Puan Syahida. She's an awesome book critique. Last but not least, I hope I will be able to publish my first novel in 2022. Insya-Allah.
#5 WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO YOUR PAST YEAR SELF?
Never give up on what you're doing and want to achieve. Success may take time. What's important is you must be hardworking, courageous, and sincere to achieve your goals. And most important you must always believe that you are born to do it and success is not far away from you.
Ok, so this is my simple 2021 review. Syukur alhamdulillah, 2021 has been a good year for me even though Covid-19 is still around. And speaking about Covid-19, I believe there are some contributions that this pandemic gives us. This pandemic allows us to slow down a little, get to know ourselves better, and give us some time to improve ourselves to become better people.
Before Covid-19, my life has always been on a buzz. I hardly have time to improve my passion for writing and drawing. Improving my passion is something I always wanted. I wanted to be good at things that I love. But unfortunately, I was always too busy with my daytime job and social life. In fact, I didn't even have time to write in my journal. Oh gosh... my life was horrible back then. Umm... cut that out. I'm just sharing some thoughts ^_^
Ok, this is all for now. I hope you guys enjoyed this simple review. I shall see you guys again in my first post for 2022. So please don't miss out. Last but not least, Happy New Year in advance. I hope you guys will have a good celebration with your family and loved ones. And I also hope that 2022 will be a better year for all of us. Insya-Allah.

I think the one thing I'm most proud of in 2021 is having Joshua Becker, a famous minimalist, mention my little blog on his blog! It gave me a lot of confidence motivation to keep doing what I do.
