Okay, this is all about SIBF. Now, let's carry on with today's objective. As I promised you in the previous post, here's my list of the 10 hottest Asian actors of 2025. Let's begin the list with no.10 to no.1...
#10 ABIDZAR AL GHIFARI
Abidzar Al Ghifari is an Indonesian actor and singer. I discovered Abidzar early this year after watching the Indonesian version of A Business Proposal. In the Indonesian version of A Business Proposal, Abidzar played the male lead, Utama. His acting in the movie was awesome. So I believe this hunk deserves to be on the list this year. Hehehe ^_^ This ultimate Indonesian heartthrob was born in 2001 and began his celebrity career in 2013. He started acting in soap operas. He is the son of a famous Islamic preacher, Ustaz Jefri Al Buchori.
#9 KANG TAE OH
This 31-year-old South Korean hunk ended his military service back in March 2024. And now he is back in business, growing stronger than before. This year, Kang Tae Oh appeared in two dramas ~ Potato Lab and Moon River. Tae Oh is known by K-drama fans for his swoon-worthy roles. His most famous drama is Extraordinary Attorney Woo (2022). In Extraordinary Attorney Woo, he acted alongside Park Eun Bin, and their chemistry was electrifying. Besides being famous as an actor, Tae Oh is also a singer. He was a member of an all-actor K-pop group, 5urprise, alongside Yoo Il, Seo Kang Joon, Gong Myung, and Lee Tae Hwan.
#8 HUN HAQEEM
Hun Haqeem is a Malaysian actor, model, singer, and TV Host. This Sarawakian-born hunk is famous for his acting talent, charisma, X-factor, and stunning visuals. Hun is first famous for his role as Ariff in Cari Aku Di Syurga (a 2019 Malaysian drama). Hun's popularity skyrocketed after channelling Luqman in Angkara Cinta. Angkara Cinta puts Hun's name on the map. Angkara Cinta was the most-watched drama during the COVID-19 lockdown era (2020-2021). This year, Hun made his debut in film. His first film is titled Soloz: Game of Life. In the film, Hun played Soloz, an e-sports player. Besides film, Hun also returns to small screens by channelling Aldi Ibrahim in Mandul Bukan Pilihan.
#7 ROSS BUTLER
Ross Butler is a well-known name in Hollywood. This hunk is a Malaysian-American actor. He was born to a Chinese-Malaysian mother and an English-Dutch father. Butler is best known for his roles as Zach Dempsey in 13 Reasons Why, Brett Willis in K.C. Undercover, Reggie Mentle in Riverdale, and Eugene Choi in Shazam! This Malaysian-American hunk is more than just his looks. He is a hunk with brains. Other than acting, Butler loves reading intellectual books, drawing, and working out to keep himself fit and healthy. This year, Butler made his comeback as Kai in Worth the Wait.
#6 LEE CHAE MIN
You guys will know who Lee Chae Min is if you watch Bon Appétit Your Majesty. In the drama, Chae Min played the male lead, King Yi Heon, and he acted alongside Im Yoona. Chae Min's acting in the drama was superb. His chemistry with Yoona was amazing as well. That's why I believe I need to have him on my list this year. Before Bon Appétit Your Majesty, Chae Min already acted in High Class (2021), Love All Play (2022), and Crash Course in Romance (2023).
#5 MEERQEEN
Meerqeen is a Malaysian actor, model, and singer. This ultimate Malaysian heartthrob entered the show business after winning third place in Hero Remaja 2019/2020 (an elite male pageant contest). Meerqeen is most famous for his role as Firdaus Iskandar in Melur Untuk Firdaus. In the drama, he acted alongside Anna Jobling, and their chemistry was electrifying. Besides Melur Untuk Firdaus, some of Meerqeen's hot dramas are Angkara Cinta, Marry Me Senorita, Ash & Aish, Framed: Can You Change Your Fate?, Cinta Untuk Sekali Lagi, Uncle Bos Mama, etc. This year, Meerqeen made a successful comeback as Thariq Ridzuan in Thariq Ridzuan: His Treasure (a drama series adapted from Huda Najwa's bestselling novel).
#4 KIM SEON HO
Kim Seon Ho is a well-known name among K-drama fans. This South Korean heartthrob once melted many hearts in Start-Up. Later, he melted many hearts again in Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha. This year, Kim Seon Ho made a brilliant comeback by channelling Park Chung Seop (cameo role) in When Life Gives You Tangerines. In When Life Gives You Tangerines, Seon Ho acted alongside IU, and their chemistry was amazing. I want to see him as IU's leading man again. Hehehe ^_^ Seon Ho's success with the drama puts his name back on the map of the world. His popularity skyrocketed again. Yay! Congrats, Kim Seon Ho! I'm happy for him ^_^ Seon Ho has a new drama coming. And in the drama, he will act alongside Bae Suzy. Oh wow!!! I'm so excited!
#3 PARK BO GUM
Park Bo Gum also made an amazing comeback this year after channelling Yang Gwan Sik, the male lead in When Life Gives You Tangerines. And in the drama, he acted alongside IU. Their chemistry is just as amazing as Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams's chemistry in The Notebook. Bo Gum's brilliant acting in the drama made him receive a lot of nominations for drama awards. In South Korea, Bo Gum is known as a good role model for young men. He has a clean personality and a healthy image. He is also known as all-ahjumas' dream son-in-law. Hehehe ^_^
#2 AHN HYO SEOP
The success of K-pop Demon Hunter puts Ahn Hyo Seop's name on the map of the world again. In K-pop Demon Hunter, Hyo Seop plays the voice of Jinu, the male lead and leader of the Saja Boys. Ahn Hyo Seop did an amazing comeback with the animated musical film. Playing the voice of Jinu Saja makes people go goo-goo-gaa-gaa over him again. Hehehe ^_^ Besides K-pop Demon Hunter, Hyo Seop also did an amazing comeback in Omniscient Reader: The Prophecy. I became a fan of this Korean-Canadian hunk after watching A Business Proposal back in 2022. After watching A Business Proposal, I started binge-watching his other dramas. I miss watching Ahn Hyo Seop on small screens. Wish he would make a comeback in K-drama next year. And I'm also hoping for a K-pop Demon Hunter 2.
#1 ROWOON
This incredibly handsome South Korean actor, singer, and model is now one of the hottest heartthrobs in Hallyu entertainment. Rowoon began his career in the entertainment industry as a member of the all-boys K-pop group SF9. He made his debut with the band in October 2016 with their single ‘Fanfare’. Rowoon’s popularity skyrocketed after he was cast as the male lead in MBC’s 2019 school fantasy drama, Extraordinary You. The success of "Extraordinary You" earned Rowoon numerous nominations for the 2019 MBC Drama Awards, and he won the award for Best New Actor. Rowoon’s super-stunning visuals make him one of the commercial film kings in South Korea. He has endorsed elite brands Klavu, Estée, Calvin Klein, Rimowa, Bottega Veneta, etc. Besides his brilliant acting and stunning visuals, Rowoon is also admired for his healthy image, down-to-earth personality, hard work, X-factor, and charisma. Plus, Rowoon is more than just his looks; he is also an intellectual hunk. He loves reading. For Rowoon, reading books is not just a hobby, but also the path to self-discovery, a medium to communicate with oneself, and to understand oneself better. Rowoon sees reading as a door to exploring the world through a different lens. This year, Rowoon made a brilliant comeback by channelling Jang Si Yool in The Murky Stream. His acting in the drama was superb. Everything that Rowoon has achieved this year makes me believe he deserves the no.1 spot on my list. Btw, this is his second time. Hehehe ^_^ Rowoon is now my favorite K-drama actor. Plus, I modelled the male lead in my upcoming novel after him ^_^ Rowoon is now doing his national service. Hope he will return safe and healthy. I'm looking forward to seeing him again when he returns in 2027. All the best, Rowoon!
