THREE REASONS TO SUPPORT X-FACTOR'S COMEBACK
During the early millennium, America had the Backstreet Boys, while the United Kingdom had Westlife. In Malaysia, we had X-Factor. Yeah!!! Recently, X-Factor made their comeback after 17 years of hiatus. Their comeback single, Walu Walu, was released on the 16th of June this year. Alhamdulillah, their comeback was a success ^_^
Therefore, I'm going to share with you guys the three reasons to support X-Factor's comeback in this entry. But before I share the reasons, let me introduce the band to you...
ABOUT X-FACTOR
X-Factor is a popular Malaysian boyband formed by KRU Records in 1999. The band consists of five members. And the original members are Syed Affendi Syed Ibrahim (Fendi), Zachery Francis Ubu (Zach), Irwan Shah Azhar (Shah), Mohd Kardanie Anwa (Danny), and James Vernon Burge (Ivan). Besides being known as X-Factor, these five handsome dudes were also known as the hunks of Malaysia during the early millennium. I was only 13 years-old when X-Factor made their debut. I had a huge crush on Zach at that time. He is a hunk till now! Hehehe ^_^
Some of X-Factor's smash hit singles are Sehangat Api, Sehingga Ke Akhir Hayat, 7251364, Bertuah, Tak Sanggup, Di Dalam Dilemma, etc. In 2001, Ivan officially exited from X-Factor after the band completed a major promotional concert in Brunei. Ivan decided to explore different musical avenues. The Eurasian hunk later joined a rock band called Muffin Scars. Following Ivan's departure, KRU Records immediately transferred Faizal Ezuan Eshak (Jim) from his previous group, Trez, to X-Factor. Jim became X-Factor's new lead vocalist before they worked on their subsequent album projects.
In 2008, X-Factor went on hiatus. The group never officially disbanded. Fendi, Zach, Danny, Shah, and Jim chose to step away to focus on their respective families and individual careers. During their two-decade separation, the members were completely out of touch with one another.
X-Factor reunite in September 2025. They officially made a surprise appearance during the Elite (a famous Malaysian girlband during the late 90s) Live 25 Concert. X-Factor's performance during the concert reignited their passion and officially ended their 17-year hiatus.
Two months ago, X-Factor officially released their comeback single, Walu Walu. The song is now popular on Spotify and YouTube. It's number one on my Spotify right now. Hehehe ^_^ Walu Walu (the tune and lyrics) is written by Jim. Walu Walu means me and you (wa and lu). The song symbolizes the connection between the band members and their loyal fans. Walu Walu features a mid-tempo blend of 1970s/1980s Japanese city pop mixed with hip-hop elements, alongside multilingual lyrics in Malay, English, and Korean.
As a fan of X-Factor, I'm glad that this band made their comeback after 17 years of hiatus. I'm also glad that their comeback is a success. Alhamdulillah. They are still loved. And as a fan, I also believe X-Factor's comeback is a huge celebration. Therefore, here are the three reasons for us to support their comeback...
#1 THEY WORK HARD FOR IT
It's never easy for any old band to make their comeback with new, fresh faces dominating the industry. But X-Factor did not give up. They believe that their fans still love them. And they are right. As a novelist who is building her dreams, X-Factor's comeback brings inspiration to me. From X-Factor's comeback story, I learned that faith and courage are important when working on something. When you start your journey, you don't know if you're going to be successful or not. But that doesn't mean you can't start. All you need is courage, the belief that what you're doing is going to work, and let Allah SWT handle the rest.
I believe X-Factor deserves their successful comeback. Yes, they work hard for it. They pump their faith and courage into it. So, if you're a fan of X-Factor, please support their comeback. And if you're new to X-Factor, welcome to the fandom ^_^
#2 THEIR COMEBACK BRINGS BACK OUR TEENAGE MEMORIES
X-Factor is a boyband most millennial/Gen-Y youth admire. We were teenagers when X-Factor was hot. Having them back in the industry brings back sweet teenhood memories. Yeah, X-Factor's comeback makes me feel young again. Oh, btw... I am forever young. Hehehe ^_^
#3 THEIR COMEBACK BRINGS BACK THE YOUTHFUL SPIRIT IN US
Just like I mentioned in point no.2, X-Factor's comeback makes their fans feel young again. Yeah, listening to Walu Walu makes me feel like I'm a teenager again. That song always makes me want to get on my feet and dance. Yeah!!! And don't be surprised, Fendi, Zach, Shah, Danny, and Jim are still hunks even though they are in their late 40s. Auuuuuuwwwwww!!!!!!!!!! <3 <3 <3 Alhamdulillah, the X-Factor hunks look after their youthful spirit so well. It's so inspiring ^_^
Fendi, Zach, Shah, Danny, and Jim are proof that a man in his 40s doesn't have to be and feel old. Oh wow!!! I'm sure their wives, partners, and children are proud of them.
Okay, so these are the three reasons for us to support X-Factor's comeback. As a fan of X-Factor, I wish them loads of joy and success. I hope they will release another single this year or next year. And I hope they will continue to shine in the industry.
