Eiyo Fadneiras,
Welcome back to Fadima Mooneira ^_^. How are you guys doing? I hope you guys are doing great. In my previous post, I already shared with you the four roles of fashion in a romance novel. So this week's entry is going to be related to last week's post. Yup, I'm going to share a list of 10 chic and trendy romance novels for fashionistas and fashion lovers. Yay!!! Now let's begin with the list...
#1 SAYANGKU CASPER BY MAZNI AZNITA
Fashion is the main premise for this modern-day Cinderella fairy-tale romance. Plus, the story is set in Paris 95% of the time. Oh la la!!! The female lead, Tia Adila, is passionate about fashion. She aspires to become a fashion designer. Tia is also an ace at designing and sewing. She is indeed a fashion designer in the making. The male lead, Tengku Rafique, is the CEO of a giant fashion house called House of Fleur (fiction). Together, they navigate the glamorous world of fashion. The author shares a lot of insight into the fashion industry in Sayangku Casper. For those who dream of building a career in the industry, Sayangku Casper is a novel you must not miss. The author also mentions luxury brand names like Lanvin, Christian Louboutin, Gucci, etc in her work. Reading Sayangku Casper makes me want to travel to Paris again. Hehehe ^_^
#2 TEMPT ME AT TWILIGHT BY LISA KLEYPAS
Fashion is not a premise in this story. But the female lead, Poppy Hathaway, is portrayed as a fashion lover by the author. Poppy loves fancy dresses and jewellery. The male lead, Harry Rutledge, is the perfect man to support Poppy and her hobby. The story is set in London. Tempt Me at Twilight is a good novel to read if you want to indulge in Victorian fashion.
#3 MARRYING WINTERBORNE BY LISA KLEYPAS
Lisa Kleypas is one of the historical romance authors who love using fashion as a premise for their stories. Marrying Winterborne is one of her chic and trendy works. In fact, I believe Marrying Winterborne is LK's most chic novel. The story is set in London. The male lead, Rhyss Winterborne, is the owner of a luxurious department store. The Winterborne Department Store carries chic, trendy, and luxury fashion. LK also shares some insight into the fashion business and marketing in this novel. Reading Marrying Winterborne makes me want to enter the book and shop at Winterborne Department Store and also indulge in chic Victorian fashion. Oh la la!!!
#4 KING OF WRATH BY ANA HUANG
For those who are fans of Ana Huang, I'm sure you guys already know that fashion is the backbone of AnaVerse. Yup, Ana Huang mentioned the word 'fashion' a lot in her works. King of Wrath is her most chic and trendy novel. The story is set in New York. The female lead, Vivian Lau, is a jewellery heiress. Vivian is portrayed as a very fashionable and sophisticated woman. She is also a member of the New York elite society. The author mentioned a lot of luxury brand names like Burberry, Prada, Chanel, Dior, etc in the story.
#5 TWISTED LIES BY ANA HUANG
Besides King of Wrath, Twisted Lies is another chic and trendy romantic read by Ana Huang. The story is set in Washington, D.C. The female lead, Stella Alonso, is a fashion influencer. Stella loves fashion a lot, and she aspires to become a fashion designer. The male lead, Christian Harper, is the perfect man to support Stella with her dreams. Ana Huang shares a lot of insights on fashion marketing in Twisted Lies. Twisted Lies is definitely a good novel for those who dream of building a career in fashion to read.
#6 THE BELLADONNA SERIES BY ADALYN GRACE
Who said romantasy novels can't be chic and trendy? Adalyn Grace has proven us wrong. Hehehe ^_^ The Belladonna series is very chic and trendy. Adalyn Grace's worldbuilding for this series is inspired by Victorian England, and so is the fashion. If you love Victorian fashion, you will definitely love the Belladonna series. But since this series belongs to the romantasy genre, the author modified the Victorian fashion a little bit just to give it a dreamy fantasy look. The outfits that the characters wear reminded me of Harajuku fashion. And I love it a lot!
#7 THE CRAZY RICH ASIAN SERIES BY KEVIN KWAN
The fashion in The Crazy Rich Asian series is crazily stunning! Almost all characters in the story are fashionistas and have their own style. It makes the story enjoyable to read. The author, Kevin Kwan, is also a genius at blending fashion with cultures. He uses fashion to promote Asian culture and heritage in the story. And that's amazing!
#8 SEX AND VANITY BY KEVIN KWAN
Kevin Kwan is truly in love with fashion! Besides the Crazy Rich Asian series, fashion is also the main premise for one of his bestselling novels, Sex and Vanity. Most of the characters in this novel are also fashionistas. Like the Crazy Rich Asian series, Sex and Vanity also promotes the rich and glamorous lifestyle. But this one is more focus towards Asian-American culture instead of East Asian.
#9 DRASIN KINGDOM BY BELLA CHU
Fashion is not a premise at all in Drasin Kingdom. But I find this romantasy novel written by Malaysian author Bella Chu a very chic and trendy read. I love the way Bella Chu describes Helena's (the female lead) style and fashion in the story. Yup, Helena is portrayed as a fashionista by the author. And this makes Drasin Kingdom deserve the chic and trendy read title.
#10 MANCHESTER EPIPHANY BY FADIMA MOONEIRA ^_^

And last but not least... here's my latest novel, Manchester Epiphany. Hehehe ^_^ As a person who has experience working in fashion and beauty, I made these two the main premise of Manchester Epiphany. The female lead, Yasmeen Aizura, loves fashion and wants to build a career in the glamourous industry. To make Manchester Epiphany simply chic, I created a fictional high street fashion brand called Blooming Jardin and a fictional beauty brand called Floria Shine. Insya-Allah, these two brands are going to be iconic in the Fadima Mooneira Universe (FMU), and they will be featured again in my future stories. And as a former fashion practitioner, I share my thoughts about fashion and the industry in general in Manchester Epiphany. I also highlight some important information about the industry for those who dream of working in fashion. These infos aren't clearly discussed in most content. And if you read Manchester Epiphany, you will find out why Manchester is also known as a fashion town. Choosing Manchester as the setting for my novel makes it a chic and cozy read. Yeah, it is definitely a good book to read during autumn. As a fashion graduate, I also share my knowledge of fashion history in Manchester Epiphany ^_^
Okay, so these are the 10 chic and trendy novels that I highly recommend for fashionistas and fashion lovers to read. If you love fashion, these are the romantic novels you must add to your TBR, guys. For those who are in a reading slump, these are also the novels that will help you get back into reading ^_^
Before I end this post, I want to ask my readers two related questions. What are the top 3 most chic and trendy novels you have read? And how do the authors describe the fashion in the novels?
Okay, this is all for now. I'll see you guys in my next post. Take care ^_^
XoXo,
