Thank You For The 7 Sunny Years, Sunshine

According to the Cambridge Dictionary, a car is a road vehicle with an engine, four wheels, and seats for a small number of people. To most people, a car is a just vehicle or machine to take them to places they want or need to go. But some people treat their car as a pet and give it a name. I am one of these people. I used to have a car that I called Sunshine. In today's post, I would like to share with you guys about Sunshine. Btw, I'm going to make this post short. So let's begin...

Sunshine is a yellow color Perodua MyV S.E 1.5. I bought Sunshine in September 2013. At that time, I was about to start my internship with Grup Buku Karangkraf (GBK)- one of the Malaysian publishing companies. GBK is located at Shah Alam, Selangor, Malaysia. So I need a car for work and traveled to Shah Alam.

Me and my Sunshine. Standing next to her makes me happy ^_^

After I completed my MBA in 2014, I landed a job at Jabatan Perdana Menteri (JPM), Putrajaya as a contract civil servant. I continued to drive Sunshine. My relationship with Sunshine improved better when I was working at JPM. I started to feel more comfortable driving the cute yellow car. Perodua MyV has a good engine and the handling is easy to compare to other cars that I drove before. I'm not a good driver and sometimes I get scared holding the steering wheel. But Sunshine made it easy for me. Because of Sunshine, I become a confident driver. Besides, Sunshine made me the independent woman I always want to be. Because of Sunshine, I can go anywhere I want without asking my Dad or Mom to send me to the destination. The sunny yellow car also made me look trendy. I always like yellow color cars. I think yellow cars are trendy and lovely for girls.

After the General Election in 2018, I lost my job as a contract civil servant. Since that day, I had a hard time finding a stable job and became a freelancer. And since I'm only a freelancer now and rebuilding my career, I am not able and can't afford to keep Sunshine. So I had to let her go although it was hard for me. We were so attached and had seven sunny years together. Sunshine has been a good car for me. With Sunshine, I'm able to drive well, become a good driver, and independent woman. Sunshine has done so many things for me. That's why it was hard for me to let her go. She is already like a family to me. She's one of the best things that I ever had.

My last picture with Sunshine :'(

I wish to keep Sunshine as my forever-and-ever car. But what to do? No money, no talk. I just have to let her go. Maybe it's for the better. Insya'Allah. Plus, we can't hold the things we love forever. There are times we need to let go of the things we love and let it be happy with a new owner. What I'm saying is love needs sacrifices.

Thank you for the seven sunny years, Sunshine

Last week, 14th September 2020, a used car agent took Sunshine away from me. I was sad and almost cried :'( However, Sunshine and I had a good farewell. Thanx to the used car agent. He took me for a long ride on Sunshine. So I had almost the whole day with her. After the used car agent dropped me at my front door, all I can say is "Bye-bye, partner.......thank you for the seven sunny years". Yep, I had seven sunny years with Sunshine. Sunshine did not just make me a good driver, but she also makes me a better person overall. As a former owner of Sunshine, I pray that she will meet a new owner soon who is a much better person and driver than me. I also pray that Sunshine's new owner will love and take good care of her more than I do. And if Allah S.W.T allows me, I would like to meet Sunshine again in the future. Insya'Allah. Aamiin.

Ok, since I already promised to you guys to make this story short, I'm just going to end this post here. Thank you for reading. Have a good day. Till we meet again.......

XoXo,

Fadima Mooneira ^_^

  2. Aww Fadima, I'm so sorry you had to part with your beloved car. We were in a similar situation a few years back when we had to sell our car that we called Yarry. (It was a Toyota Yaris!) To this day, we still miss him and talk about him often. As I'm sure you will with Sunshine!

  6. Oh I’m sorry to hear that, may everything will be fine for you from time to time. It’s cute and heartwarming the way you viewed your Sunshine. Indeed when we have a car that long, we tend to feel the love towards it right. Stay strong and may your path will be ease next and after.
