FOUR SELF-CARE TIPS FOR RAMADAN

Eiyo dearies,

Welcome back to Fadima Mooneira. I'm back from my one-week blogging break. How are you guys doing? I hope you guys are doing good, especially my fellow Muslim friends. It's Ramadan now. Ramadan is a special month for all Muslims. It's a very beautiful month. Now let me begin today's post with a  summary of Ramadan...

Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar. It is also known as a month of fasting, prayer, reflection, and community. Ramadan is viewed as one of the five pillars of Islam. The five pillars are the foundation of how Muslims live their lives. Besides Ramadan, the other four pillars are faith, prayer, charity, and pilgrimage to the holy city of Mecca.

During Ramadan, we, Muslims are required to fast from sunrise to sunset for one month. Fasting is a must for all Muslims except those who are sick, pregnant, lactating, menstruating, elderly, and traveling. Fasting means we aren't allowed to eat, drink, smoke cigarettes, or do sexual and sinful things from sunrise to sunset. Some of the reasons why we, Muslims are required to fast during Ramadan is because it helps us to devote ourselves to faith, brings us closer to Allah S.W.T, and makes us learn to be patient and compassionate. Fasting is about nourishing our souls.

During Ramadan, we, Muslim people usually wake up before sunrise just to have our Sahur. Sahur is to prepare ourselves for the day and fast. For Sahur, we usually have light meals and drink plenty of water. When sunrise begins, we fast. And after the sun fully sets, we brake our fast by having dates, water, and some meals. After we break our fast, we continue our night with Fardhu and Tarawih prayer. When the beautiful month is over, we will celebrate our victory with Eid Mubarak.

Ok, this is all I'm going to share with you guys about Ramadan. Now I'm going to share four self-care tips for Ramadan with you guys...

#1 SLOW DOWN YOUR WORK & FOCUS ON YOUR PRAYERS

Ramadan is not just about fasting, it's also about prayers. So to all my fellow Muslims, please slow down your work during Ramadan and focus more on your prayers. Insya-Allah, the more you pray, the more Allah S.W.T will ease things for you.

#2 READ AL-QURAN

Since Ramadan is about prayer, I believe it is a good month to spend time reading the Al-Quran. Ramadan is a month to reflect on ourselves as Muslims and human beings. Reading Al-Quran will help us to reflect on ourselves. Insya-Allah.

#3 EAT HEALTHY FOOD

Fasting (the Muslim way) is known as the most healthy diet. But to be healthy during fasting and Ramadan, we must also eat healthy food. This is a super important self-care tip, guys. So plan your Ramadan menu well, dearies. And remember, don't overeat. It's bad for your health.

#4 GET ENOUGH SLEEP AND REST

Getting enough sleep and rest is also super important during Ramadan. We need to recharge ourselves well to stay fit and strong. So you guys need to reschedule your sleeping time during Ramadan. You guys need to sleep earlier during Ramadan.

Ok, so these are the four self-care tips for Ramadan I want to share with you guys. I hope you guys are staying healthy during this beautiful holy month.

Before I end this post, I would like to wish my fellow Muslim friends, a very Happy & Blessing Ramadan. May Ramadan this year be a good month for all of us. Insya-Allah. Aamiin.

Last but not least, thank you for reading. I'll see you guys again in my next post. Take care.

XoXo,

Fadima Mooneira ^_^

  28. This is really helpful, Fadima. I have a number of Muslim workmates and one tip I wanted to share here is that Muslims might be more tired than others during the day due to fasting, so it makes sense to be mindful of this during the working day and make sure they are drinking enough fluids and taking regular breaks.
