NOVEL REVIEW: FOOL FOR LOVE BY ELOISA JAMES

Eiyo dearies,

Welcome back to Fadima Mooneira. I'm here to share my review of Eloisa James' Fool For Love. Now let's begin this review with Eloisa James' bio...

ABOUT ELOISA JAMES

Eloisa James is the pen name chosen by historical romance author, Mary Bly. James was born in Minnesota, America in 1962 to an award-winning poet, Robert Bly, and short-story author, Carol Bly. James is a well-known author in the American book industry. She's an award-winning novelist, and most of her books are listed as bestsellers. Besides being an author of historical romance novels, James is also a Literature Professor at Fordham University.

ABOUT FOOL FOR LOVE

Fool For Love (FFL) is one of Eloisa James' most successful novels. The story is set in the regency era in England. It follows a beautiful heiress named Lady Henrietta Maclellan and a suave stylish alpha male hero named Simon Darby.

Like most young ladies, Henrietta longs for love, marriage, and children. But unfortunately, most people around her, and even Henrietta herself believe that she is not capable of giving birth. Henrietta has weak hips and her mother died while giving birth to her. Most people believe that Henrietta might end up like her late mother.

Henrietta accepts her fate. She tries her best to stay away from romance and marriage. Henrietta never participates in the London season even though she wants to. The beautiful heiress remains calm until Simon Darby enters her life.

Meeting Simon makes Henrietta want to whisper promises late at night, exchange kisses on the balcony, and receive illicit love notes. That man is just too hard for Henrietta to resist. And he is not like any other gentlemen that Henrietta met before. Simon has two younger step-sisters who are orphans and still children. He is taking care of them as if they are his own children. Henrietta believes that she can become a mother to Simon's two kid sisters if she marries him.

So Henrietta let her imagination soar and writes a steamy romantic letter to herself. Shockingly the letter becomes public. And what is more shocking is that most people believe Simon wrote it to Henrietta. A scandal might stir up if Simon and Henrietta did not get married asap.

So will Simon and Henrietta become husband and wife? Will they have a happy married life together? Can Henrietta give Simon children?

MY REVIEW OF FOOL FOR LOVE

FFL is the first Eloisa James novel that I read. I believe FFL is a very fun, enjoyable, and feel-good novel to read. This novel is good for light reading.

I love James' writing style in this novel. It's very chic and easy to understand. James' writing style in FFL makes this novel a fast and easy read. I also like the way James describes the scenes in this story and her characters' feelings toward each other.

FFL is a very romantic read. This story has a lot of steamy romantic scenes. I like the way James' describes all the romantic scenes in FFL. I also like the way Simon seduces Henrietta. Very romantic and passionate. It makes me feel the romance.

Overall, I enjoyed reading FFL. Reading FFL makes me want to read more of Eloisa James' work. Yes, I'm now a member of the Eloisa James fandom ^_^ I rate this novel 9/10. I highly recommend this novel to my fellow bookworms who are into the historical romance genre and looking for something light to read. However, I need to be honest that FFL is not suitable for teenagers under 18. It's because this story has a lot of steamy scenes and adult conversations. Sorry teenagers. This book is not for you guys to read yet. Hehehe ^_^

Ok, so this is my review of Eloisa James' Fool For Love. So is anyone here a fan of Eloisa James? If yes, please recommend to me some of Eloisa James' novels. I really want to read more of this author's work ^_^

Ok, this is all for now. Thank you for reading my review of Fool For Love by Eloisa James. I'll see you guys again in my next post. Take care.

XoXo,

Fadima Mooneira ^_^
