Eiyo Fadneiras,
Welcome back to my blog. In today's entry, I decided to share a geeking post. Yup, I'm going to geek out about one of my favorite book series ~ The Wallflowers by Lisa Kleypas. Now, let's not waste time. Let's begin this geeking post with a short bio of the author, and then we shall follow up with a summary of the series ...

ABOUT THE WALLFLOWERS
All books in the Wallflowers series
The Wallflowers is the first book series by RITA-winning author Lisa Kleypas. The Wallflowers is the most popular and most read book series by Lisa Kleypas. The series consists of four books ~ Secrets Of A Summer Night (2005), It Happened One Autumn (2005), The Devil In Winter 2006), and Scandal In Spring (2006). The series is followed by a short novel titled The Wallflower Christmas (2008). The Wallflower Christmas serves as an epilogue to the Wallflowers series. And to be honest, I have not read The Wallflower Christmas yet. Hehehe >_<
The stories are set during the Victorian Era in England. Annabelle Peyton, Evangeline Jenner (Evie), Lillian Bowman, and Daisy Bowman are having a hard time finding their suitors during the massive London season. Together, they make a pact to help each other find husbands, no matter what it takes. Together, they called themselves the Wallflowers, and their bond is the most heartwarming ever.
The Wallflowers series isn't just about romance. It's also about friendship, family, coming-of-age, and self-discovery. All books in the Wallflowers series are lively and enjoyable to read. The stories aren't just romantic, but also heartwarming and healing. All characters in the stories are make-believe people. All have their own strengths and flaws.
I finished reading all four books last October and have written reviews of them in my September & October 2025 Reading Wrap-Up. Click on this link to check them out >> MY SEPTEMBER & OCTOBER 2025 READING WRAP-UP. Syukur alhamdulillah, just like The Hathaways and The Ravenels, this series also captured my heart deeply. I love this series a lot. And I love all the books written by Lisa Kleypas. I hope she will start writing again. I miss her a lot.
Ok'lah, I have shared Lisa Kleypas's bio and a summary of The Wallflowers, now let's begin the geeking questions ...
#1 WHEN DID YOU START READING THIS SERIES? AND WHAT IS THE FIRST BOOK OF THIS SERIES YOU READ?
I started reading this series in November 2022, and the first book I read was It Happened One Autumn. I know it's funny that I read the second book before the first one. Hahaha >_< At that time, I did not plan to read The Wallflowers series. But after reading It Happened One Autumn, I fell in love with the characters. So I decided to read all four books. I remember during the holiday season of 2022, I went for a book haul at Kinokuniya and bought all the Wallflower books. And last year, I did a Wallflower reading marathon. Yay!!!
#2 RANK ALL WALLFLOWER BOOKS FROM MOST FAVORITE TO LEAST FAVORITE
1) The Devil In Winter
2) Scandal In Spring
3) It Happened One Autumn
4) Secrets Of Summer Night
#3 WOW! WHAT MAKES THE DEVIL IN WINTER YOUR FAVORITE BOOK IN THE WALLFLOWER SERIES?
The Devil in Winter (TDIW) is a beautifully written book. It has a similar vibe to The Notebook by Nicholas Sparks. It's so heartwarming and enduring. It makes you believe in true love. TDIW is not a traditional romance story. Besides romance, TDIW is also about self-discovery and spiritual awakening.

The main characters, Evie and Sebastian, are twin flames. They are two halves of the same soul. When they enter each other's lives, they bring miracles to each other. Evie gained confidence and overcame her stammering problem. She steps into her divine feminine power. With Evie by his side, Sebastian's soul awakens. He quits being a rake and transforms into a loyal, loving, and devoted husband. Sebastian realizes that he was not born as a bad person. Evie makes him see his true self, the man he is always meant to be. Evie and Sebastian are mirrors of each other's souls. They are the catalyst and greatest teachers for each other's spiritual growth. Being together makes Evie and Sebastian realize that they are loved, whole, and enough since the day they were born.
I'm glad that I read TDIW twice. I first read this novel in 2022. At that time, I didn't truly understand true love, the invisible string, destiny, and twin flames. Now that I learned about them, I love the story more. Yes, TDIW is a novel worth reading, guys ^_^
#4 WHO IS YOUR FAVORITE FEMALE LEAD IN THE WALLFLOWER SERIES?
That has to be Evangeline Jenner (Evie), the FL in The Devil in Winter. Evie is not just a pretty face character. She is smart, brave, strong, and courageous. She knows her worth. She's unstoppable. I admired this character a lot and strongly see her as a role model.
Evie may be the most gentle Wallflower girl. But when it comes to rescuing herself and building the life that she wants, she is fierce. And that's what I need to be.
#5 CAN YOU STRONGLY RELATE TO EVIE?
Hmm ... I believe in only 50% like Evie >_< Even though Evie is my favorite, the Wallflower girl that I can strongly relate to is Daisy Bowman (the FL in Scandal In Spring). Like Daisy, I'm also into books, love writing, and drawing. We both easily get offended when someone says 'reading is a waste of time.' Hmph! And like Daisy, I'm also a deep woman and have different opinions about the world. And because of that, guys are scared of me :P
#6 WHO IS YOUR FAVORITE MALE LEAD IN THE WALLFLOWER SERIES? AND IS HE CLOSE TO YOUR IDEAL TYPE?
My fan art of Sebastian & Evie from The Devil In Winter (Image: My Artstagram @fmooneira_art)
My favorite ML is Sebastian, Lord. St. Vincent (The Devil In Winter). But the one who is closest to my ideal type is Matthew Swift (Scandal In Spring). Yup, I like a man who is intellectual, loves to read, knowledgeable, good with animals and kids. Hehehe ^_^
#7 WHICH SETTING IN THE WALLFLOWER SERIES WOULD YOU LIKE TO VISIT?
Oh wow! A lot! But no.1 in my list will always be Hampshire. Most LK stories are set in Hampshire. I did some research on Hampshire and found the county very mesmerizing. I must travel there in the future. Aamiin.
Besides Hampshire, I also like to visit Gretna Green. The way LK describes it sounds so interesting and mysterious. It makes me intrigued ^_^
