POSTCARDS FROM LANGKAWI WITH LOVE

Eiyo dearies,

Welcome back to fadimamooneira.com ^_^ In today's entry, I'm going to share some pictures from my Langkawi vacation last December. My family and I went there to celebrate my mother's birthday. But before I share the pictures, let me share with you a summary of Langkawi ...

THE LANGKAWI ISLAND

The Reddish-Brown Eagle of Langkawi at Dataran Lang

Langkawi is an island located in the Northwest of Malaysia in the state of Kedah. Langkawi is one of Malaysia's gems and is known as the jewel of Kedah. To most international tourists, Langkawi is the Hawaii of Malaysia. This island is famous for its exotic beaches and nature.

This island was developed into a tourist destination in the 1980's. Now, Langkawi is also known as a duty-free shopping haven for local and international tourists. Kuah is Langkawi's largest town. And that's where Dataran Lang (The Eagle Square) is located. Pantai Cenang is the island's most popular beach and tourist area.

The eagle is the icon of Langkawi. The island gets its name from the reddish-brown eagle. Lang is a short form of helang, the Malay word for eagle. While kawi means red-stone used as a chalk to mark goods. Besides duty-free shopping, exotic beaches, and nature, Langkawi is also rich with culture, history, and heritage. Indeed, it is a beautiful place to visit in Malaysia.

Okay, this is all about Langkawi. Now let's allow the pictures to share the story ...

Arrived at Langkawi International Airport at Padang Matsirat ^_^

We had breakfast at Nasi Dagang Pak Malau the next day. Nasi Dagang Pak Malau is one of the restaurants you must dine at if you visit Langkawi. Besides delicious food, this place is a good spot to experience art and culture. Plus, this place also offers its customers a serene sawah padi view to enjoy while eating.

Visited the Underwater World Langkawi at Pantai Cenang. I love visiting aquaria. But I do believe this place needs a lot of improvement. Uhuuuuu ...
