SEVEN FUN FACTS ABOUT MANCHESTER EPIPHANY

Time moves so fast. I can't believe it's the last week of Ramadan already. Eid Mubarak is just around the corner. I hope you guys are excited for Eid. And I hope you guys are feeling excited for today's post. In today's post, I'm going to share seven fun facts about my upcoming novel, Manchester Epiphany. Yay!!!!!!

Before I share the seven fun facts, let me share a summary of the novel with you guys ...
First of all, Manchester Epiphany (ME) belongs to the contemporary romance and self-discovery genre. Fish-out-of-the-water is the main trope for ME. Besides that, ME also carries tropes like the-cute-meet-cute and destiny. Fashion and beauty are selected as the main premises of ME. Yup, this story centers around the fashion and beauty industry. ME is geared towards fashionistas and beauty buffs. This novel is also good for youngsters who are working in and wish to build a career in these industries. As a person who has worked in these two glamourous industries, I share my experiences and thoughts about it in ME. Insya-Allah, ME will be published on April 7, 2026, after Eid Mubarak. This novel will be available at my online shop @Fadneira_On94U and Book Capital.
ME is a standalone novel, yet it can also be considered as a spin-off to my second novel, Saranghaeyo Namsan (SN). The female lead in ME, Yasmeen Aizura, is the younger sister of the female lead in SN, Maya Juhara. After Maya had achieved her dreams, Yasmeen decided to pursue hers. Yasmeen travels to Manchester, England, to pursue her Bachelor's degree. Besides pursuing her Bachelor's degree, Yasmeen also wants to meet and win her football crush, Ricardo Alonso, a Portuguese footballer playing for Manchester Town (a fictional football club). But instead of Ricardo Alonso, Yasmeen crosses paths with a British-Mongolian perfumer named Arban Batsaikhan. Meeting Arban leads Yasmeen to her self-discovery journey ...
Okay, let's move to the seven fun facts about ME ...
#1 ME IS GOING TO BE MY FIRST NOVEL IN ENGLISH
You guys wanna know the difference between Manchester Epiphany with Saranghaeyo Namsan and Fail Merah (my first novel)? One of them is that ME is written in English. Yay!!! Yup, ME is going to be my first novel in English. At first, I did not plan to write in English. But while drafting the manuscript, I suddenly feel that this novel should be in English since the story is set in England and most of the characters' dialogues are in English. So why not just write the whole book in English? Hehehe ^_^ And Insya-Allah, I will market this novel internationally as well.
#2 ME IS NOT A TRADITIONAL ROMANCE NOVEL
Before the novel is published, let me give you a trigger warning. Hehehe :P ME is not a traditional love story. Besides romance, ME is also about self-discovery, spiritual awakening, healing, chasing dreams, life, family, and friendship. For those who love cringing scenes, I need to be honest with you that ME doesn't have any :P
#3 SI TENGGANG'S HOMECOMING IS THE MAIN INSPIRATION FOR ME
I already made Fail Merah a Hamlet reverse, Saranghaeyo Namsan a Pride & Prejudice inspired, and now ME is a Si Tenggang's Homecoming inspired. Si Tenggang's Homecoming (STH) is an evergreen, award-winning poem written by Malaysian National Laureate, Professor Emeritus Muhammad Haji Salleh. STH is one of my all-time favorite poems. I learned about it back in high school. At that time, it was hard for me to analyze it. But when I fully understand STH, I love it and highly appreciate it. STH is not just a poem about physical adventure. But it is also about spiritual adventure. The poem is beautiful, inspiring, and has a deep meaning. In ME, STH mirrors the spiritual journey of Yasmeen Aizura.
ME also serves as a tribute to Professor Emeritus Muhammad Haji Salleh. I thank Professor Emeritus Muhammad Haji Salleh for visiting my booth during the KLIBF 2023 and buying Fail Merah. Thank you, Sir. I feel so honoured ^_^
#4 THE STORY IS SET IN MANCHESTER
Manchester is Yasmeen Aizura's choice to further her journey. ME is 90% set in Manchester. I used to live and study in Manchester before. So I believe it will be lovely to write a story set in Manchester. After all, the city has given me loads of beautiful memories to cherish. Besides Manchester, ME also features scenes in London, the Lake District, and Kuala Lumpur.
#5 ME SERVES AS A SHOUT-OUT TO MY FRIENDS
Besides making this novel a tribute to Professor Emeritus Muhammad Haji Salleh, ME also serves as a shout-out to my Wilmslow Park girls: Kate, Indy, and Maria. These girls were my flatmates back in Manchester. And they made my Manchester memories sweet. Therefore, I created three characters after them: Aisha, Jordana, and Marisa. These characters are Yasmeen's flatmates. Yup, Yasmeen also lives in Wilmslow Park. Hehehe ^_^
Besides my Wilmslow Park girls, ME is also a shout-out to my amazingly talented fellow authors: Bonda Nabun, Amashida Ahmad Rani, Mak Chantek, Salhan K. Ahmad, Yuda Areni, Kid Haidér, and Izzy Matias. Being friends with you guys is a blessing for me. To make ME more lively, I created seven unnamed cameos after you guys (you know who you are ^_^). Hidup geng Mandiri 2023!!! Yeah!!!
#6 CHARACTERS FROM SARANGHAEYO NAMSAN & DANFO MAKE CAMEOS IN ME
For Maya Juhara and Haikal Kim fans, ME is a novel you must not miss. The female lead and male lead of Saranghaeyo Namsan will be back in ME. Yay!!! Maya and Haikal will be portrayed as more mature characters in my upcoming novel. What they do to empower the creative industry in Asia will amaze you. Oh ... how I wish people like Maya and Haikal existed. Hehehe :P
Besides Maya Juhara and Haikal Kim, the male lead in my short story, DanFo (KCPPS Vol. 2), Demian Wong will also make his comeback in ME. Double yay!!! In ME, Demian is portrayed as a famous actor and model. Whoa!!!
#7 ME SERVES AS A GRAND OPENING TO THE FADIMA MOONEIRA UNIVERSE
Even though I'm not a fantasy author, I still do world-building for my stories. The Fadima Mooneira Universe doesn't have any magic. It only has miracles for those who are good, kind, hardworking, and believe in beautiful things. In my universe, all characters are connected to each other. FYI, Maya Juhara and Yasmeen Aizura are cousins of the female lead in Fail Merah, Dahlia Jamilah. And besides the characters, I also created some cool spots for my characters to hang out and have fun with their buddies and loved ones.
Since ME is going to be a grand opening to my universe, I create and introduce new characters that will have important roles in my future stories. I also feature some of the cool places that I've created in my previous stories, like Bakri's Tuscany. Yup, the Tiffany blue Italian-fusion restaurant will be back in ME. And you guys are invited to dine there. Besides featuring places that I've created, I also introduce new cool places in ME. Yay!!!
Besides these seven fun facts, I also have two additional fun facts to share with ya before I end this post. And the two additional fun facts are ...
#1 ZENDAYA AND ROWOON ARE FAN-CAST AS THE MAIN LEADS FOR ME
Fan-casting your favorite celebrities as the characters in the books you read boost reading mood. The same goes for writing. Hehehe ^_^ It's like you can create your own movie by writing your novel. For ME, I fan-cast Zendaya as the female lead, Yasmeen Aizura. I gave Yasmeen almost the same features as Zendaya. Like Zendaya, Yasmeen is beautiful and has the physique of a supermodel. She is blessed with tan skin, long, wavy dark hair, hazel-brown eyes, and exotic features.
For the male lead and Yasmeen's love interest, Arban Batsaikhan, I fan-cast South Korean actor, singer, and model Rowoon. Like Rowoon, Arban is tall, dark, and handsome. He is 6 feet 3 inches tall, all masculine, and has the chin of a webtoon character. Hehehe ^_^
#2 ME IS ALSO GEARED TOWARDS THOSE WHO ARE INTO HANDSOME HUNKS
ME doesn't carry the trope why-choose. Well, it's not a why-choose for Yasmeen. She makes her choice. But it's a why-choose for all of you, readers. Hehehe. ME features more than one handsome hunk. Firstly, we have Arban Batsaikhan, who is the male lead of the story. And then, we have Ricardo Alonso, the darling of football and every girl's dream boyfriend. Thirdly, we have Arban's best friend, L. As mentioned in point no. 6, Haikal Kim of Saranghaeyo Namsan and Demian Wong of DanFo are making their comebacks in ME. So Haikal and Demian are also listed as the hunks in ME. Whoa!!!
