Okay, that's all about my upcoming novel. Now let's carry on with today's objective. During my last visit to London, I visited the Sherlock Holmes Museum. Alhamdulillah, I had a good time and experience there. So in today's post, I'm going to share with you all three reasons for you to visit the Sherlock Holmes Museum if you travel to London. Before the three reasons, let me share a summary of the museum with you guys first ...

ABOUT THE SHERLOCK HOLMES MUSEUM

Me at the main entrance of the Sherlock Holmes Museum

The Sherlock Holmes Museum is a privately run museum located at 221B Baker Street, London. This four-storey Georgian townhouse museum is dedicated to a famous literary character created by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Sherlock Holmes.

This museum was first opened in 1990.  All rooms in the museum are decorated based on what Sir Arthur describes in his stories, providing visitors from around the world with an insight into the life and stories of the famous fictional detective, as well as a feel and experience of Victorian London. The museum is also filled with authentic Victorian furniture and curiosities, as well as a treasure trove of items belonging to Sherlock Holmes, his friends, and adversaries.

The museum also shares with its visitors the largest collection of Sherlock Holmes gifts and memorabilia. Visitors can shop for unique and exclusive Sherlock-related items at the museum's gift shop, from deerstalker hats to puzzles to beautifully bound books, etc. For more information about the Sherlock Holmes Museum, visit their official website >> THE SHERLOCK HOLMES MUSEUM.

Okay, since I've given you guys some insight about The Sherlock Holmes Museum, now let me share with you the three reasons to visit this interesting place ...

#1 IT BROADENS YOUR KNOWLEDGE OF LITERATURE

All kinds of publications of Sherlock Holmes books

Sherlock Holmes is one of literature's famous characters and icons. Visiting this museum will help you broaden your knowledge of literature. Besides giving visitors an experience of Sherlock's life, this museum also shares with you how Sir Arthur Conan Doyle got his ideas to write Sherlock Holmes stories. If you're a literature buff and a writer, this museum is definitely a must-visit for you.

#2 IT GIVES YOU SOME KNOWLEDGE ON ESPIONAGE

Sherlock's important stuff

For those who are die-hard devotees of Sherlock Holmes, I'm sure you know that this character is a famous detective. So espionage and intelligence are the main premises for Sherlock Holmes stories. The tour guide of this museum also shares some knowledge on espionage and how Sherlock conducts his investigation with visitors. It fascinates me a lot. Espionage is always an interesting subject for me.

#3 IT GIVES YOU A FEEL OF THE VICTORIAN ERA

The tour guide dressed up as a Victorian maid

Visiting the Sherlock Holmes Museum is like traveling through time. Everything about this museum is so Victorian England. The setting, the furniture, and the staff are all dressed in Victorian costumes. As a Victorian Era enthusiast and old soul, I find this museum fascinating. Being inside the townhouse really makes me feel that I have travelled back to the Victorian times. Oh wow!!! Amazing! I wish time travel existed.

Okay, so these are the three reasons for you guys to visit the Sherlock Holmes Museum if you travel to London. Now I shall leave you with some pictures I took during the visit. Enjoy, sit back, and relax ...

Inside Sherlock's bedroom. Spot that famous hat? According to the tour guide, Sherlock rarely wears that hat. But it became a famous icon due to its uniqueness. Btw, I got one for myself ^_^
