NOVEL REVIEW: MARRYING WINTERBORNE BY LISA KLEYPAS

Eiyo my lovely Fadneiras,

Welcome back to Fadima Mooneira ^_^ How are you guys doing? I hope you guys are doing well with your life. Whew!!! Time flies by so fast. I can't believe we only have two days left till February. Oh, time envies us a  lot.

Early this month, I shared my review of a historical romance novel written by Lisa Kleypas. The novel is titled Cold-Hearted Rake (CHR). CHR is the first book in Lisa Kleypas' The Ravenel series. Today, I'm going to share my review of the second book in Lisa Kleypas' The Ravenel series. The second book is titled Marrying Winterborne. Now, let's begin this review with Lisa Kleypas' bio...

ABOUT MARRYING WINTERBORNE

After Lady Kathleen Ravenel achieves her fairytale, her sister-in-law, Lady Helen Ravenel's story begins. Helen is a shy and quiet beauty. Socializing is not her thing. Plus, Helen has never been kissed before meeting a handsome business tycoon named Rhys Winterborne.

The kiss was a shock to Helen.  Helen thought Rhys was aggressive. So she ends their relationship. But later, Helen realizes that she makes a mistake. So Helen went to Winterborne Department Store at the beginning of the story to apologize to Rhys. Helen also wants to return to Rhys. Rhys accepts Helen back. He even vows to make her his wife.

Rhys Winterborne is a common-born and a son of a Welsh grocer. Growing up in a non-aristocratic family, make Rhys love to dream big. His savage ambition has brought him vast wealth and success. He is now the owner of the largest department store in London. The department store is called Winterborne.

However, the London society is still looking down on Rhys. It's all because of his family background. Well, there's only one thing for Rhys to do. He needs to marry a blue-blooded girl. Once he has a blue-blooded wife, his children will be blue-blooded too. Only then the society won't be looking down on Winterborne. Well, this is what Rhys thought. And Helen is perfect for him. She is blue-blooded and beautiful.

But in the middle of the story, Helen finds out that she is not really a Ravenel by blood. Her mother had an affair with a man named Albion Vance. And from their affair, Helen's mother had her. Oh, dear! So Helen is not blue-blooded. Not being blue-blooded is not Helen's only problem. Rhys also admits that Albion Vance is the man who ruins his best friend's life. Rhys hates Albion Vance for that and swears that he will never have any connection with him. Gulp!

But can Rhys accept Helen after he finds out about her true background? Is Rhys' love for Helen strong enough? And what is Rhys' main objective after he admits that he is in love with Helen? Does he want to marry Helen for love? Or does he still want to marry her just to gain social status? You need to read Marrying Winterborne if you're curious about Rhys and Helen ^_^

MY REVIEW OF MARRYING WINTERBORNE

Overall, Marrying Winterborne is a very lovely romance novel to binge-read. Btw, V Day is coming ;) The story is flowery, sensual, chic, and sexy. I like this novel more than Cold-Hearted Rake. It is a very beautiful novel indeed. Marrying Winterborne is now listed as one of my top 10 and all-time favorite romance novels.

The characters that LK created for this novel blend well with the story's plot. I like Lady Helen Ravenel's character. I believe this book beauty is well crafted by Klyepas. Even though Helen is shy and quiet, she is still a very strong woman on the inside. She's a go-getter and will work her way through to get what she wants. She's definitely another book beauty to look up to as a role model.

I like Rhys Winterborne's character the most. In fact, I'm in love with this character. Rhys is not just handsome and rich, but he is also kind-hearted, loving, and romantic. I like that he loves to help others. I also like the way he loves Helen. Rhys Winterborne is another swoon-worthy alpha male hero to swoon your heart, romance readers. Oh, how I wish this man is real!

The use of fashion as the commercial value for this story also makes it very enjoyable to read. It makes me wish that I want to enter the world in this novel and go shopping at Winterborne Department Store. I want to experience what Helen and her sisters (Pandora & Cassandra) experienced in the story. It's just so chic and stylish!

Last but not least, I rate this novel 10/10. I really enjoyed reading Marrying Winterborne. It's one of the best romance novels I've ever read. Insya-Allah, I'm planning to read it again in the future. I highly recommend Marrying Winterborne to my fellow bookworms who are looking for something sweet and romantic to read. I also highly recommend this novel to my fellow bookworms who are into the historical romance genre. Trust me, guys, you're not gonna regret investing in and reading Marrying Winterborne. Plus, Marrying Winterborne is a romance novel that all romance readers must not miss! However, I need to be honest that there are some sexy romantic steamy scenes in the story. So this novel is not suitable for those who are under 18.

Ok, so this is my review of Marrying Winterborne by Lisa Kleypas. Before I end this post, I would like to ask my readers three related questions...

1) Has anyone of you read Marrying Winterborne by Lisa Kleypas?

2) If yes, did you have a crush on Rhys Winterborne while reading the novel?

3) And is Rhys Winterborne your ideal type?

Hehehe... my answer for the second and third questions is yes! Now, I would like to hear your answers. So please share your answers in the comment box below.

Ok, this is all for now. I'll see you guys again in my next post. Take care ^_^
