ABOUT ANA HUANG
Ana Huang is an Asian-American author who lives in New York. She's also US Today and Amazon's bestselling author now. Ana Huang is now the queen of the new adult, josei and contemporary romance novels with alpha male heroes, strong heroines, and plenty of steam, angst, and swoon sprinkled in. Most of Ana Huang's novels have been sold to over two dozen foreign publishers for translation and featured in outlets such as NPR, Cosmopolitan, Financial Times, and Glamour UK.
This creative genius young author describes herself as a self-professed travel enthusiast. As a jet setter, Huang loves featuring beautiful places that she visited in her stories. And she's also obsessed with a chai latte, and hot chocolate, and has multiple relationships with fictional boyfriends :P
ABOUT TWISTED LOVE
Twisted Love is the first book in Ana Huang's Twisted series. This novel belongs in the new adult romance and josei genre. This novel also carries the Hades-And-Persephone-Romance and forbidden love tropes. The story follows a cold-hearted alpha male hero named Alex Volkov, and a free-spirited beauty named Ava Chen.
Behind her sunny smile and cheerful personality, nobody knows that Ava Chen has a dark childhood. Ava grows up believing her late mother tried to kill her. Ava's dark past even haunted her in her sleep. And because of her dark past, Ava is afraid of the water. She doesn't like swimming and is afraid to travel far from home.
When Ava's brother, Josh went to Europe for medical training, he asked his best friend, Alex Volkov to look after his sister. Alex agrees to look after Ava for Josh. Later in the story, Ava and Alex become close. They even start dating and share a steamy romance together. Auwww!!! Alex even helps Ava overcome her fear of water by giving her swimming lessons.
To Ava, Alex is the most perfect man she has ever met. He is a man who has everything. He is a man who is good at everything. Wow... he's a swoon-worthy alpha male indeed! But like Ava, Alex also has a dark past. He's also hiding a secret from Ava and everyone. Alex actually approaches and seduces Ava on purpose. Alex is planning to seek revenge on someone close and related to Ava. Who is that person? Can Ava look at Alex the same way after she finds out about Alex's revenge plan?
MY REVIEW OF TWISTED LOVE
Twisted Love is the first Ana Huang novel that I read. I was introduced to Ana Huang's novels by my BFF, Maddy. My BFF believes that I'm going to enjoy Ana Huang's stories since I'm into the new adult romance genre, and love reading romance stories about alpha male heroes and strong heroines.
Well, Maddy is right! I did enjoy reading Twisted Love. I believe Twisted Love is a very awesome and enjoyable novel to read. The plot and storyline are awesome. And the characters that Ana Huang created for the novel blend well with the story.
I like Alex Volkov's character. I had a crush on this character while I was reading Twisted Love. Alex is a very sexy, charming, and alluring hero. He's definitely a swoon and crush-worthy book heartthrob. I like his bad-boy vibes. And I also like the way he cares for Ava. Oh wow... it's so nice to have a boyfriend like Alex ^_^
I can also relate Twisted Love with my novel, Fail Merah. Like Twisted Love, Fail Merah is also about a man who is desperate to seek revenge on the person who ruins his happiness. But in his journey, he meets a beautiful woman who makes him believe in love and kindness once again.
After reading Twisted Love, I confidently declare myself as a new member of the AH fandom even though that is the only Ana Huang novel that I've read so far. Btw, I already bought the three other novels in the Twisted series during my vacation in London. And Insya-Allah I will read them this year. I'm sure I will enjoy Twisted Games, Twisted Hate, and Twisted Lies as much as I enjoyed Twisted Love. Hehehe ^_^ I'm looking forward to reading all of Ana Huang's novels including her new series, Kings Of Sin. I have also subscribed to Ana Huang's newsletter, followed her on Instagram, and joined her fandom community on Facebook, Ana Huang's Twisted Squad.
Overall, I rate Twisted Love 10/10. I truly enjoyed reading this novel and might repeat reading it in the future. I also highly recommend Twisted Love to my fellow bookworms who are into the new adult romance and josei genre. Trust me, guys, you are going to enjoy this novel 100%. Hehehe...
However, I need to be honest that there are more than five steamy romance scenes in Twisted Love. The language in this novel also is very adult. So I believe Twisted Love is unsuitable for those under 18.

DeleteYou can't beat a good traditional trope and Hades/Persephone are a classic tale. I've not come across a romance with swimming lessons before though - sounds like a fun read, Fadima!
