THREE REASONS TO VISIT THE TERENGGANU STATE MUSEUM
Terengganu is a state located in the northeast of Malaysia. Terengganu is rich in its history and culture. There are many touristy spots to visit in Terengganu, and one of them is the Terengganu State Museum. Last year, my family and I visited the Terengganu State Museum. So in this post, I will share three reasons to visit this amazing museum. Before that, let me share a summary of the museum with you...
The Terengganu State Museum is also known as the Losong Museum to the local people. This museum is located at Kampung Bukit Losong, Paloh, Terengganu. The Terengganu State Museum was first established in 1976. The history of the museum begins with the discovery of the Terengganu inscription stone (Batu Bersurat Terengganu) in Kampung Buloh, Hulu Terengganu, by Syed Hussein Ghulam Al Bukhari in 1902.
The museum complex consists of four main buildings, five traditional houses, and one Maritime museum. The main buildings are inspired by Malay traditional architecture and contain a gallery of textiles, antique accessories and jewelry, traditional weapons, Islamic art, etc.
The admission fee for this museum is RM5.00 per person. The Terengganu State Museum is open from Saturday to Thursday at 9.00 am - 5.00 pm. On Friday, the museum is open at 9.00 am -12.00 pm, and will reopen at 3.00 pm - 5.00 pm. For further information on the museum, please feel free to visit the website >> THE TERENGGANU STATE MUSEUM.
Now, let's check out the three reasons to visit this beautiful museum ...
#1 IT'S ONE OF THE LARGEST MUSEUM COMPLEXES IN SOUTHEAST ASIA
According to the Kuala Terengganu City Council's official website, this museum is one of the largest museum complexes in Southeast Asia. This museum is built on a 27-hectare (approximately 67-acre) plot of land. Visiting this museum makes me feel like visiting a castle. It also makes me feel like I'm in Hilal Ashraf's bestselling novel, Nirnama. Hehehe ^_^
