For this month's book heartthrob profile episode, I will share my analysis of Alex Volkov. Alex Volkov is a character created by Ana Huang for one of her bestselling new adult romance novels, Twisted Love. Now let's begin this analysis with Alex Volkov's profile...
ABOUT ALEX VOLKOV
NAME: Alex Volkov
AGE: 28 years old (It was mentioned by the author)
NATIONALITY: American of Russian origin
OCCUPATION: Alex is the COO of The Archer Group at the beginning of the story. But towards the end of the story, Alex becomes the CEO of the corporation.
HIS ROLES IN THE STORY: He is the male protagonist & the love interest to the female protagonist, Ava Chen.
HIS GOALS:
Alex has a dark past. His family was murdered right in front of his eyes when he was still a little child. The tragedy haunts Alex's life forever. Revenge is the only thing Alex wants in life. He wants to seek revenge on the person who killed his family. And the person is someone close to Ava. That's what Alex believes at the beginning of the story.
HIS PERSONALITY
Alex is a lost soul hero with Hades vibes. He is dark, cold-hearted, mysterious, enigmatic, and morally grey. But, he is also charming, confident, charismatic, smart, quick-witted, suave, protective, loving, and romantic. When it comes to work, Alex is a hard-working, responsible, very disciplined person. He is a dedicated leader indeed.
HIS PHYSICAL ATTRIBUTES
Ana Huang gives Alex Volkov a very stunning physical appearance. Alex is a very handsome man. He is tall and all masculine. His skin is quite fair. He has dark hair and shining emerald-green eyes. Oh wow!!! I can imagine how he looks. He must be so dreamy looking ^_^
While reading Twisted Love, I imagined American actor, Brant Daugherty as Alex Volkov. Like Alex, Brant Daugherty is also tall, masculine, and has dark hair and green eyes. So he is perfect to be fan cast as Alex Volkov.
HIS BACKSTORY
Alex's late father was a successful businessman with so many enemies around his belt. One day, the Volkovs were attacked at their home. Most of the family members were killed. Alex was the only person who survived the tragedy.
The tragedy put a huge scar on Alex's life. It haunts him forever like a curse. The only thing that Alex can do if he wants to live his life in peace is to seek revenge. Yes! Revenge is the only thing that Alex ever wanted in life. He wants to avenge his family's death so badly.
Alex believes the person who murdered his family is someone related to Ava Chen. Ava is also the younger sister of Alex's best friend, Josh Chen. When Josh went to Europe for his medical training, he asks Alex to look after his sister. Alex takes it as an opportunity. Alex seduces Ava so that he can get near his goal. But could it be true that the murderer is someone related to Ava?
MY OVERALL REVIEW OF THE CHARACTER
Firstly, I like Alex Volkov's character. I had a crush on this character while I was reading Twisted Love. To me, Alex is a very sexy, charming, and alluring hero. He's definitely a swoon-worthy book heartthrob indeed. And I'm sure this is something all readers cannot deny. Hehehe :P
I also like Alex's bad-boy vibes. I believe the way this character talks is very sexy. Ana Huang creates this character so well. And I also like the way Alex cares for Ava. Helping Ava overcome her fear of water and giving her swimming lessons is so sweet. Oh wow... it's so nice to have someone like Alex ^_^
Besides being swoon-worthy, Alex's personality and image also blend well with his goals and the plot of this story. This point makes the character compelling to readers.
Ok, so this is my analysis of Alex Volkov. He is a book heartthrob created by Ana Huang for her novel, Twisted Love. Twisted Love is the first novel in Ana Huang's Twisted Series. The characters characteristics seems a little at odds with each other if he's cold and dark, yet loving and romantic. But I don't know much about character development in fiction
