FOUR REASONS TO VISIT SIZERGH CASTLE
As a culture vulture adventurer, I love visiting castles, historical sites, museums, and art galleries when traveling. I just returned from my England vacation. And during my England vacation, I visited Sizergh Castle. So in this post, I'm going to share the four reasons to visit Sizergh Castle. Now let's begin this post with a summary of Sizergh Castle...
ABOUT SIZERGH CASTLE AND THE ESTATE
Sizergh Castle is a beautiful stately medieval house with rich gardens and estate. The castle is located at Helsington in Cumbria, about 6 km south of Kendal, Lake District, England. Like most historical sites in the UK, Sizergh Castle is also in the care of the National Trust.
The land was first owned by the Deincourt family back in the 1170s. When Elizabeth Deincourt married Sir William de Stirkeland in 1239, the estate passed into the hands of what became the Strickland family. The Strickland family occupied the Sizergh estate for more than 800 years.
In 1950, Lt. Cdr. Thomas Hornyold-Strickland (the 7th Count della Catena) gave the land to the National Trust. Now under the care of the National Trust, the castle and its estate have become one of the most visited historical sites in the Lake District.
The castle is a must-visit if you come to the Seizerg estate. In the romantic luxurious mansion, visitors can observe some of the finest Elizabethan carved overmantels in the country, a collection of good English and French furniture, and family portraits.

Now let's continue this post with the four reasons to visit Sizergh Castle if you travel to the Lake District. We shall begin with reason no.1...
#1 THE SURROUNDINGS ARE SO BREATHTAKING & SERENE
Sizergh Castle and its land is not just a place for culture vulture adventurers. It is also a place for nature lovers. The surroundings of the castle are so green and serene. The whole estate is so breathtaking. Sizergh Castle's garden is also beautifully landscaped. The breathtaking and serene surroundings also make the estate a good place for healing. It makes you feel calm.
#2 IT'S A GOOD PLACE FOR PHOTOGRAPHY ENTHUSIAST
If photography is one of your hobbies, Sizergh Castle is a must on your bucket list. The beautiful architecture of the castle, the stunning interior design inside the castle, and the mesmerizing landscape of the garden and the estate make this place awesome for taking pictures. Your camera phone won't rest well in your pocket when you're at Sizergh Castle ^_^
#3 IT'S A GOOD PLACE FOR INSPIRATION
If you're a writer, artist, or any kind of creative, Sizergh Castle is a must-place to visit. The castle and its estate bring loads of inspiration. A lot of romance and fantasy authors already mentioned that Sizergh Castle is one of the best places in the UK which gives them the inspiration to write their stories. Being at Sizergh Castle makes me feel like I'm in one of Lisa Kleypas's novels. Cewah... berangan :P
#4 IT'S A PLACE FOR FAMILY
Sizergh Castle is not just a place for adults. The castle also provides events and activities for kids. There is a wild play trail where kids can explore and play at the same time. There are also kids’ quizzes available in the castle. All the adventures Sizergh Castle provides for adults and kids make this place a good place for families.
Okay, so these are the four reasons to visit Sizergh Castle. So, has anyone visited Sizergh Castle? If yes, what are your opinions of the castle with its garden and estate?
