BOOK HEARTTHROB PROFILE: GABRIEL, LORD ST. VINCENT FROM DEVIL IN SPRING

Eiyo dearies,

Welcome back to Fadima Mooneira. The Book Heartthrob Profile series is back with another crush-worthy hunk to swoon your heart. For this month's book heartthrob profile episode, I'm going to share my analysis of Gabriel, Lord St. Vincent. He is a book heartthrob created by Lisa Kleypas for one of her bestselling historical romance novels, Devil In Spring. Now, let's begin this analysis with Gabriel's profile...

PS: I have one announcement to share with you guys at the end of this post. So please read this post till the end ^_^

ABOUT GABRIEL, LORD ST. VINCENT

My fan art of Gabriel, Lord St. Vincent (Image: My Artstagram @fmooneira_art)

NAME: Gabriel, Lord St. Vincent

AGE: 28 years old (It was mentioned in the novel)

NATIONALITY: English/British

OCCUPATION: Estate Owner/Businessman

HIS ROLES IN THE STORY: The love interest to the female protagonist, Lady Pandora Ravenel

HIS GOAL:

Just like his father (Sebastian) once was, Gabriel is also known as an ultimate rake with no intentions of getting married. But Gabriel changes his perception after he met Lady Pandora Ravenel. The eccentric wallflower beauty is the first girl who rejects him. Gabriel finds the high-spirited Pandora irresistible. He is willing to do whatever it takes to possess her. And that is his goal in the story ^_^

A snippet from Devil In Spring ^_^

HIS PERSONALITY

Gabriel is a hero with a bright personality. He is charming, quick-witted, and open-minded. He knows Pandora is different from all the girls he met before. She is eccentric, imaginative, creative, artistic, and quirky. And he likes her the way she is. He has no intentions to change her. To Gabriel, Pandora is perfect the way she is. And this makes Pandora accept Gabriel's proposal.

Besides being charming, quick-witted, and open-minded, Gabriel is also romantic, loving, protective, and supportive.  I like the way he encourages Pandora to go for her dreams. I also like the way he cares for Pandora's safety.

HIS PHYSICAL ATTRIBUTES

Gabriel is a sexy stunning and alluring man. Kleypas gives him good looks and strong physics. He is tall and all masculine. His skin is clear and fair. His hair is gold and blonde. His eyes are blue as the ocean. Oh wow!!! I can imagine how dreamy he is.

FYI guys, Gabriel is the son of Sebastian and Evie. Sebastian and Evie are Kleypas' two most famous couples. They are the hero and heroine in Devil In Winter (Kleypas' most popular historical romance novel). And Gabriel looks almost exactly like his father, Sebastian.

HIS BACKSTORY

Kleypas portrayed Gabriel as a notorious rake at the beginning of the story. Gabriel had a lot of affairs. But he had no intention of getting married. He even enjoyed seducing unhappy married women. Hmm,... just like Sebastian was before he met Evie.

Girls go goo-goo-gaa-gaa over Gabriel for his good looks and charmingness. Gabriel was also quick-witted enough and always managed to escape marital traps with ease. But one night at a ball, Gabriel was unlucky. He got caught with a rebellious girl in a huge house on a settee. Oops!

The girl was Lady Pandora Ravenel. She was beautiful but eccentric and quirky. Pandora was different from other debutantes. She had no intention of finding a husband. The creative genius beauty dreamed to become a board game designer. Pandora wanted to make money with the things that she enjoyed doing.

At the ball, Pandora's friend, Dolly asked for her assistance. Dolly lost her precious earring after having a rendezvous with her lover in the Summer House. Pandora agreed to help Dolly. In the Summer House, Pandora got herself trapped arse-upwards on a settee, with her dress caught in the carved scrollwork. And that was when Gabriel came into the scene.

Gabriel entered the Summer House when he heard a woman screaming and cursing. There he found Pandora caught arse-upwards on the huge settee. Like a clodpate, Gabriel went to help Pandora. But before he could pull her free, Lord Chaworth and Lord Westcliff entered the house. And that was how Gabriel and Pandora got caught.

Gabriel eventually agreed to marry Pandora. But Pandora refused his proposal. However, Gabriel found Pandora irresistible. The eccentric wallflower was different from all the girls he met before. Gabriel vowed to do whatever it takes to get Pandora in his arms. He doesn't want anyone else to have her.

MY OVERALL REVIEW OF THE CHARACTER

Devil In Spring step back cover (Image: addictedtoromance.org)

First of all, I can't comment much about Gabriel since this story is more focused on Pandora. But since Devil In Spring is a romantic comedy historical romance novel, I believe Gabriel's charming and cool personality suits the story. Gabriel has the qualities of a rom-com hero. Plus, the chemistry between Gabriel and Pandora is just so stunning and irresistible.

I can't deny that I had a crush on this character while I was reading the novel. Gabriel is just too charming to resist. I like the way he keeps himself calm when Pandora says 'no' to his first proposal. He even impresses her with his card-flipping skill. That is sooooo cool!!!

But the no.1 thing that makes me have a crush on Gabriel is that he doesn't try or have intentions to change Pandora. He loves her for who she is. I like the scene where Gabriel tells Pandora that being imaginative does not make her less adult than anyone else. In fact, it makes her more interesting than anyone. Oh... I hope I will find a guy like Gabriel one day ^_^ I also like that Gabriel supports and encourages Pandora to go for her dreams. This is the kind of guy most girls dream of for a husband. Am I right, ladies? Hehehe...

Ok, so this is my analysis of Gabriel, Lord St. Vincent. He is another swoon-worthy book heartthrob created by Lisa Kleypas. As a fan of Lisa Kleypas, I believe she is the best when it comes to creating swoon-worthy book heartthrobs. All the book heartthrobs that she created are swoon-worthy. That's why I enjoy reading her novels. And as a new author, I want to be like her. I also want to create swoon-worthy book heartthrobs that swoon my readers' hearts. Hehehe ^_^

Ok, this is all I want to share with you in this book heartthrob profile episode. Before I end this post, I would like to ask my readers two questions. Have you guys read Devil In Spring?
