FOUR REASONS FOR ORDINARY CREATIVES TO DO YOGA
Breathe in ... breathe out ... stay calm and be present ...
Hehehe ... this is what yoga instructors like to say ^_^
Yoga is a fitness workout and practice that connects body, breath, and mind. This practice uses physical postures, breathing exercises, and meditation to improve overall health. Yoga began as a spiritual practice thousands of years ago. But now, yoga has become a popular fitness workout.
This fitness workout can help you improve your overall fitness level, posture, and flexibility. Yoga can also benefit you by lowering your blood pressure and heart rate, helping you relax, improving your self-confidence, reducing stress, improving your coordination and concentration, and helping you sleep better.
I've been practicing yoga since last April. Syukur alhamdulillah, so far, practicing yoga has benefited me a lot. I enjoy doing yoga. Yoga is now my favorite fitness workout. And syukur alhamdulillah, so far, I'm able to stay committed to my practice. So in this post, I'm going to share four reasons for all ordinary creatives like us to do yoga. Now let's check out reason no.1 ...
#1 IT REDUCES PHYSICAL DISCOMFORT
Sitting in front of a laptop can cause neck, shoulder, and back pain. This soreness and stiffness can cause creative blocks. And that sucks! Some yoga stretches and movements can help you release physical and emotional tension stored in your body. Letting go of this physical discomfort frees your mind and enables you to boost your creative energy. This will help you produce high-quality creative work. Hehehe ^_^
#2 IT INCREASES YOUR PHYSICAL ENERGY
Consistent yoga practice will help you to increase energy and vitality. This will give you good stamina and awaken your mind to do your creative projects. And at the same time, yoga practice also helps you to avoid burnout, rest, and rejuvenate.
#3 IT GIVES YOU A HEALTHY BRAIN
Having a healthy mind is important for all ordinary creatives. Yoga practice can help you get a healthy mind. It enhances your focus, sparks divergent thinking, and helps you balance logic and intuition. Yoga practice makes you able to use your right and left brain well. This is good for creative works.
#4 IT CLEARS MENTAL AND EMOTIONAL BLOCKS
Creative people are usually sensitive and emotional. And creative works sometimes make us feel overwhelmed. They sometimes make us dwell too much on our past, and sometimes make us worry about our future. But yoga makes us able to stay grounded and be present. Yoga can also help us to improve our confidence, shut down our inner critiques, inspire new perspectives, and cultivate authenticity.
Okay, so these are the four reasons for all ordinary creatives to do yoga. Yoga is an awesome style of workout. It is not just for the body. But it is also to nourish the mind, heart, and soul. It makes you able to relax while working out. Syukur alhamdulillah, doing yoga makes me happy ^_^ At the moment, I'm doing yoga at home. I follow some yoga videos that are available on YouTube. Yoga instructors like Boho Beautiful, Kassandra, Adriene, and Bird provide awesome videos for us to follow. Insya-Allah, in the future I might be taking physical classes for yoga.
Taking care of the body and mental health is super important for all ordinary creatives. Fitness activity is a must. So, fellow creatives, what kind of fitness workout do you enjoy doing? Besides yoga, I also enjoy doing pilates and kickboxing workouts.
Okay, this is all for now. Before I end this post, I want to inform you that this Friday I'm going to Phuket for a one-week vacation. So there won't be any post from me next week, ya. Insya-Allah, I will see you guys again when I get back from Phuket. Oh ... I so can't wait to relax at the beach, drinking non-alcoholic cocktails, eating ice creams and popsicles, reading a good book, and doing yoga. I so need this vacation. Hehehe ^_^
From my heart to yours, namaste ^_^

DeleteI've been doing yoga since 2017, and it's always the workout I come back to. Especially now that I'm a bit more spiritual and sometimes like to have crystals nearby. We both have a love for pilates as well! My other favorite workout is walking around my neighborhood, or doing "indoor walks" when the weather doesn't permit.
